Keyport

Keyport is Datatech’s software wedge for the Windows
environment. (What is a software wedge?)
It is ideal for laptops, Intermec's 6640 and 6650, and connecting any
serial device to your PC.
Keyport takes ASCII input from a serial port (usually from a bar
code scanner or automatic scale) and sends the data as keystrokes
to a Windows program. Keyport allows you to remap ASCII characters
to any key or any combination of keys up to 255 strokes long.
Characters can also trigger actions such as bringing a window to
front, or running an application.
Version 4.0 allows the user to define different transactions for
each window. Keyport automatically detects which window is in front
and verbally guides the user through the transaction (patent pending.)
Version 4.1 adds GM 1724 support. Version 4.1 can be configured
to automatically detect and process data from your GM 1724 labels.
Your application will receive only the data that it requires when
you scan GM 1724 labels.
